Reflections of a Skyline Resident and His Years as an Open Space District Board Member
A PRESENTATION BY LARRY HASSETT
Larry Hassett will share reflections on his 23 years as a board member of the Mid-Peninsula Regional Open Space District and how that work has intersected with being a longtime Skyline resident. He will talk about the history of the Skyline community, the initially contentious relationship between the community and the Open Space District, how those early battles were resolved, and what the relationship between the MROSD and the local community looks like today. He will also discuss how he brought “the Skyliner” perspective to the board when he was elected in 2000, the work that MROSD has done in protecting and preserving the local land, and how that work will continue with his successor, Margaret MacNiven.
